<Don't worry about it man. Bet you that it jumps to 107.75 by next Friday. >

O.K.,

Can you give me three compelling reasons for Lucent to have a
continued bullish run in the mid term (say three months out)?

If you look at a Nasdaq chart (and I'll work with the assumption
that LU tracks the Nasdaq more closely than the NYSE), you'll
see three decidedly down selloff days, followed by a failed
rally on the fourth day. To me this is the sign of the beginning
of a down trend. Nothing to worry about, in fact, I'm happy
about it, means more opportunity later! If the past is any guide,
LU will form a base (maybe high 90's?, I'd love to see the mid
80's! cause I'm greedy), then when the market becomes
accumulative again, Lucent will be a leader again in the rise,
(depending on how their 'blockbuster' acquisitions are accepted
by the street)

But short term I would be extremely interested in anyone's
comments on driving forces behind a continuing bullish
uptrend.

Lucents market cap is much larger than say Dell, and as companies get larger, their growth tends to slow. It remains to be seen whether a company like Lucent can grow to say 4000 % since 1995. Dell has grown something like 40 times since 1994, but I can't imagine it continuing much longer at that pace. Lucent tripled last year and may split again and hence double again. I would feel more comfortable buying lucent around 85. If the markets tumble a little I may get my wish. If we knew Lucent would double we would just invest everything in it and not work during the day.
