FIELD ACTIVITIES / Ridgeway equipment delay

ARIZONA - NEW MEXICO CO(2) / HELIUM PROJECT -
TESTING UNIT DELIVERY EXPECTED JUNE 22, 1998
DELAYED UNTIL AUGUST 10, 1998

CALGARY, July 27 /CNW/ - The following correspondence was received by
Ridgeway Petroleum Corp. late Friday, July 24, 1998 from Smith Thompson Inc.,
Houston, Texas, the manufacturer of this specialized equipment to be owned and
used by the Company in monitoring and testing the different components (CO(2)
/ Helium) contained in the gas reservoir estimated to contain 21 T.C.F. in
place.

From: Al Majek
To: Tom White
Subject: Current status of CO(2) monitoring project
Date: Friday, July 24, 1998 1:42 p.m.

Tom:
As you are aware, we have experienced difficulties with the Hewlett
Packard(HP) Gas Chromatograph used on this project. Due to power
requirements, space limitations and delivery times, we have no alternative
source for this piece. HP has promised that we will have a working unit at
our facility by July 31.
Following arrival of the device, we will need one week to complete tests
and burn-in validation. Therefore, the trailer would be ready to leave our
facility August 10. Be assured that we are doing everything possible to
accelerate this date.

Thank-you for your patience regarding this matter.

Best regards,
Al Majek, P.E.
CEO
