Is it just me? These news stories seem to paint a brighter picture than the closing prices on both of these stocks. So they were written earlier -- wouldn't you want to include closing prices as of friday if your releasing them later. Also, do they seem a little inconsistent.
IBM is praised for getting rid of its PC inventory to prepare for an acceleration in the next quarter. GTW is going to continue to see pricing pressure.

Why can't analysts put together the decline in hardware sales at IBM, HWP's warning, and GTW missing estimates to get a clue about the whole industry? Surely some of them have no financial interest in these companies. I understand you can't badmouth tech in general and keep your job, but why not say this or that particular sector looks really bad -- invest elsewhere?
