If the Fed uses Northrop Grumman, and the code contains large amounts of Cobol, the code will go to MatriDigm. This comes from a conversation I had with Gene Lowe over at Northrop Grumman.

I called him after Northrop announced their Alydaar alliance. I asked him if Alydaar was a "replacement" for MatriDigm. He said "No, not a replacement. They complement our alliance with MatriDigm. Alydaar handles platforms that MatriDigm doesn't. We aligned ourselves with them so that we could offer our customers the best of all choices. MatriDigm handles only Cobol, and they handle that very well."

I then asked him what would determine which service they would use. He responded "if the customer has a large Cobol application, that work will be sent to MatriDigm."
