Ramsey:
Thanks for post on moves by leadership on PLA and "business". What do you think the chances of real success are? Also must admit some confusion given the complicated interrelationships re the Q's "partners" or companies "cooperating" with the Q in China. Do I remember that there has been a major switch in responsibility for wireless at the central government level? In short, do you think the Q is working with the future powers that will be or some of the past powers that were? Also noted that in the WTO entrance negotiations the Chinese negotiator talked about opening up telecom to "foreigners" only after rpt after WTO admission and that again "foreigners" would be permitted in wireless 5 years after such admission. Puzzled re impact (if any) on CDMA launch as opposed to "trials". Would much appreciate any insight you can share since think that China is very important in GSM vs CDMA and that it is probable the a strong CDMA presence in China is a key element to the Q's future success. Thanks in advance. Chaz

I had thought that someone had already launched service in Shanghai using Samsung basestation equipment last year? I may be wrong, but I know that they have CDMA service there using Samsung stuff, just don't know if it was considered commercial or not.
