Re your comments on stock attack

My cash is higher than average and I have put options (on National Australia Bank) and a short position in MSFT. Under various assumptions (including that the options are in the money at expiry) my overall beta (of net asset value) is -0.12 but I still have long positions. I am gradually making that beta more negative. Last week I withdrew money from a mutual fund (small Aussie stocks) for a tax loss. I'm going to be looking at my US long positions this week.
