Jane, I am reading a book right now about the process and guilt and consequence of sin. It is interesting ya'll have been talking about David, and we always want to say yep yep, David man after God's own heart, but we forget or ignore the fact that because of his sin; his son fathered by Bathsheba, died;(2 Sam. 12:15-18) David's son Amnon raped his half-sister Tamar(2 Sam. 13:1-20). David's innocent daughter became a desolate woman.(v.20) In revenge, Tamar's full brother Absalom murdered Amnon(2 Sam.13:23-37). And finally, Absalom was killed trying to wrest the kingdom from David(2 Sam. 18:1-8).

Three dead sons, one ruined daughter... And people think there is no consequence for sin.
