Y2K:

Hi John,

This subject was touched on briefly on another thread I WAS reading for awhile (if you'd like its location just PM me and I'll tell you via that format). There wasn't much discussion except to conclude that someday there might be very good reason to maintain a home garden. But my position was and still is, that unless it is a significant size, I can't imagine it will provide for the needs of a party or parties year after year.

Now one method of providing another source of food is through sprouting. Of course, it helps if one likes them in the first place, but there are also a variety of recipes for sprouts as the idea of sprouting has matured. Wheat sprout crackers is a personal favorite of mine, although it is a recipe belonging to a friend living in CA. I don't have it, but if one can find it or one like it, I beleive it is worth trying.

How big is your garden at present?

Hi John,

I just scanned the first 250 posts on this thread looking for what you had asked about regarding how to use your (enviable) abundance of tomatoes.

Post #204 has some good ideas, but not specifically what you're looking for (I think). However, the person who made the post is obviously quite knowledgeable and could probably help you with your unfortunate dilema. LOL!

I'll keep you in mind and if I run across something along the lines of what I believe you're looking for, I'll pass it on.

With regard to the cut and pasting request......never mind. I think it would be best just to go it alone and not worry about whether or not the guy is on the up and up. The investment decision is really mine alone to make. What conclusion others come to is really their own business. In short, perhaps its best I not turn the mole hill into a mountain.

Whenever Next Time Is,

Mike

OK, now what do I do with all these tomatoes
ripening at the same time :)

My family is only used to fresh tomatoes, eaten
as slices, or on salads or in BLT's. What would
be some simple cooked forms of tomatoes I could
introduce my family to that would work with fresh
or canned tomatoes? Or should I just turn the extras
into spaghetti sauce?

John
