I like Chile a lot. I don't know enough about diamonds and S. Africa to have a knowledgeable opinion there. But I am worried about the recent outbreak of violence between the ANC and the other party. I think that as in the USSR ethnic rivalries had been held in check there by a repressive regime and now that the repressive regime is gone all Hell may be ready to break loose- irrespective of the goodwill of many in the country. I must admit I also have a problem with diamonds, because of the cartel. I don't know how to accurately value them. I assume the fact that there is a cartel makes them more valuable, but in an intangible way I find hard to get a handle on. Industrial diamonds I can understand better- but still, I don't like diamonds. I do not have many reservations about Chile, even though they have significant political problems. I will look at AR, that looks really good. I'll take a look at SOA too. Thanks a lot.
