Well, they'll have to pay out what, 95% of any earnings at the end of the year or lose the REIT tax structure. So I'd imagine any suspension would be for only a quarter or two. I kinda agree that the downside is pretty limited -- I just wish I could buy more in the damned DRIP, but they suspended OCPs a month or so ago! That, IMHO, is really stupid.

RS; Holding back on the dividend to get out of the bind
can let them buy back shares, in that way you can benefit more with increased share value, than with the taxable dividend.
