How does NT caching work?

I have not tried this Win95 utility yet but have read the documentation. One can configure the utility such that it will write to specific directories. For example one would map the Netscape cache directory to RAM. With page hits going to RAM instead of the harddrive a lot of mechanical wear and tear would be avoided in addition to increased performance.

Is this functionality available in NT?
