Lbp DOES turn on the cascade by presenting LPS(endotoxin) to cd14 BPI DOES appear to block this. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO If sepsis is when SIRS (systemic inflamatory response syndrome) is confirmed from bacterial orgin then IMO bpi has a great chance to KICK SOME ASS. There already has been a trial of bpi is sepsis. It WAS small, It WAS open label, It does NOT prove anything, BUT it did KICK SOME ASS. All above represent my thoughts and may not be accurate.
