CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 1998--CTX Computer, CTX International, Inc. announced today its latest desktop system, the CTX SIC300. Priced at under $800, this powerful system is the newest addition to the CTX desktop family, utilizing the revolutionary new Intel 300MHz Celeron processor-- offering the highest value, multimedia and integer performance available for basic PCs to date.

CTX, in partnership with Intel, is one of a select group of leading computer manufacturers given access to Intel's latest chip design. In addition to the Intel 300MHz Celeron processor, the SIC300 comes with 32MB Sync DRAM-- ideal for handling the most memory-intensive software on the market. The system also has a 3.2GB hard drive, 56K flex Voice/Fax modem, 32X CD-ROM drive and 1.44MB floppy drive.
For the user's convenience, the CTX SIC300 has expandable slots for three 32-bit PCI Slots and two 16-bit ISA slots, and the Mid Tower case includes a 200 watt UL listed power supply, three 5.25-inch drive bays and two 3.5-inch drive bays. And, for multimedia buffs, the SIC300 has true, 3-D Stereo Sound capabilities, with one MIDI/game port, external speaker jack, line-in jack, microphone jack, headphone jack, as well as a pair of 80 watt (PMPO) stereo speakers.
Priced at $799, the SIC300 is available July 25th via the CTX national distribution network, computer retail channels and CTX dealers, such as Best Buy. Microsoft Windows 98 compatible, it has a full, one-year warranty on parts and labor.
