Well here goes... I'll do the best I can without getting into details of which I am unsure!

You have heard about arithmetic progressions and geometric progressions... all indices are ARITHMETIC additions of the various stocks they represent. The VGY is the GEOMETRIC combination of the various stocks represented. Somehow, that creates a more conservative index that shows the where stocks are REALLY headed. Now some of things I don't know include:

- how the calculations are made,
- exactly which stocks are involved,
- why it is any better at calling the markets than, say, NYSE or S&P500.

Anyone else out there knows, please, be kind enough to post it???
