Exactly. There has been some technical damage, but nothing that cannot be recovered from in the near future. Some of those stocks that became momentum stocks may not sail as brightly again for a period of time. But with this sentiment driven market, who knows? But their highs will provide substantial resistance and is the point where the stock is likely to fail on its first attempted thus creating another sell off in the momentum oriented stock.

Notice that stocks that are not by their past nature considered momentum stocks have become one. Perhaps when a group of stocks in the market begin to behave very uncharacteristically with no change in evidence to explain the attraction to an entirely different type of buyer is a sign that the market is changing. Time to keep the eyes open.
