Modano, CMGI's interest in Geocities has been known for a long, long time. It (and the prospect of a high IPO value) was figured in CMGI's value long ago. CMGI is no longer a value stock, as it was when MSFT bought a large chunk at a split-adjusted $6 ... pure momentum now, rising on expectations of higher prices ... as it was about 20 months ago the last time it had a comparable runup.
