Greetings shalom, I am also interested, as you know, with the timing of the end times events. You bring up a lot of things that will take time to answer, some with which I agree with you. The falling away is an interesting sign to look for. It could be said that there already is a falling away because the world in large part has already rejected christianity and Jesus as never before. We are in a "post-christian" culture that barely tolerates christians. But then I believe there will be another final falling away of christians who do not understand, as you say "ran out of oil" which I would interpret as running out of the Holy Spirit which could be the same thing as running out of or not knowing the Truth, as you said. This falling away I believe will occur when the beast demands that all take his mark and become part of his world economic system or become hunted and killed. The price of the testimony of Jesus will become too high for those who "ran out of oil". Interestingly Paul said in his time that they were to watch for the great falling away. Yet they did not know God's plan for the church age. When Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father He did not know the day or hour. Jesus could only tell His church to be ready and what the signs would be, but not when. That one thing the Father has kept to Himself. When we are taken up in the twinkling of an eye we will be in the spirit, leaving our bodies behind. We will meet the Lord in the air (Spirit) but we will also be in the air (atmosphere) because it says we will be gathered and harvested. I have not looked up the scriptures to go with this because it is late. I'm sure you know them but I will try to be more studious in the future. Thanks for opening this up again for discussion.
