IBM definitely was an influence, as was Mostech. However, after the one Meg came out Micron revolutionized processing. Case-in-point would be going to a seven masking step for their photolithography. All this was done in the Tyler Lowrey, Ward Parkinson, Tom Trent, and etc. time frame. That is what Micron is missing now; they have talented people, but few who care about the company versus profit.

The group mentioned above were visionaries, and for that matter Micron is still living off of their contributions. Micron is did the world how to make DRAMs; in a way like no other company could. IBM was the founder, Micron the teacher. Problem is the students learned well too -- HA!
