Gas Prices Continue To Plunge

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Gasoline prices continued to plunge at the pump, dipping nearly a penny per gallon in two weeks, an oil industry analyst said today. The Lundberg Survey of 10,000 stations nationwide found that the average retail price, including all grades and taxes, was about a half-cent over $1.12 on Friday. That was down .63 cents from the July 10 survey, Trilby Lundberg said. Retailers are being forced to reduce their profit margin at the peak of the summer driving season, the analyst said.
