Well, got most of it done, so here goes, John. I hope mine is shorter than yours, but do want equal time here. LOL
Well in the instance of the Bill Cleveland post and your links, you stated, "Here are some examples from some analysis that was recently posted to this thread. "NVID is another potential powerhouse, etc." "and I can't remember when, etc., and we are talking about, etc". Do you call two years ago recent? Post #44 was filled with news releases and other links and quotes from individuals and the dates those statements were made were still in 1996, but some of the quotes were from an even earlier date in August. Picky details. That truly was two years ago and everyone knows that these individuals no longer post on this thread. Long gone and information that is being posted now, in my mind, is quite different. There was much more enthusiasm from many more people regarding NVID back then and was it any wonder with what M. Klenovic confessed to, was doing and why. When you go back and read K & B's news releases, makes you wonder how you did not realize what to look for. Learned a lesson there also. You think the same thing is going on with NVID now? I do disagree with that. The links you put in this letter are very confusing as you did not list Post #'s on all. You made it very hard to follow, but since I pay attention to details I caught it and was able to identify each due to the fact that I HAVE read EVERY post to this thread.
If you hit what you have put as a link in your Post #2613 you get the Aug. 17th Post #44. If you hit what you have put as a link in Post #2634. you get Post #3091 on the GaBard Corner first which Cindy Powell misquoted what was said by Kerry. He did not say that he thought NVID would be the biggest gainer this year, what he did say was that he thought NVID would be HIS biggest gainer this year. (June 4, 1998).. Totally different from original link, posted to Bill C.. I am referring to link that ends with = 4716398. Are you trying to fool me and everyone else?. Are you joking with me, now? I checked your information out closely, as I usually do. What people need to do is go back to Post #44 by Gerald Merena. The dates are all there if you look. You posted only one link to Ray W's post, Post #375l on the GaBard Corner, but he also put Post #2605 on the NVID thread and asked the question was this a pump and dump. He said he wanted to get in on it, so does that not indicate to you that he would join those pumping and dumping, or was his question posted to try to get someone to respond to him. Just can't trust all on these thread, I certainly know whom I trust. . I will watch from now just what he posts to SI to see for myself. Could he be a new beginning investor to small caps to ask this question, do you think? Or did he just post that for the benefit of us investors on this thread thinking that someone WOULD answer his question right off the bat. If he is, then lordy me, know what thread he belongs on, don't you ? LOL I did not see an answer by anyone to his question. His question on GaBard Corner was not answered on the thread. Looked like every one ignored him completely. However, right after that here you come questioning pump and dump and posting "bounty hunter" information. I found that very interesting indeed, but it was good information for those that would be interested in being a bounty hunter. Not this old gal. I prefer to work very hard and earn my money than be labeled a bounty hunter. I did err in saying only one was recent. Ray W's was recent too, so there were only two recent ones, because everything in Post #44 was two years ago..
Regarding the witch hunt, OK so you are not, I will concede to that, but you posted that you saw pump and dump so you investigated. IMO think you went down the wrong road John, LOL. Mr. Ray W has not been a regular poster to this thread and we have people pop in all the time that have something negative to say on the NVID thread. You did say that you had read every post to this thread. When you saw that post, did it open a door for you to post about your thoughts on all of this. Just curious and many here know what hard knocks I have taken for being curious. That's OK, you don't have to answer that one. Really kidding about that and you do not have to answer. I think I know the answer anyway.
If you have been here long enough, you see who the naysayers (non-investor types/bashers) post the heaviest to, US INVESTORS When the news releases are able to be released, maybe a lot of questions will be answered. For me they will. Remember in June of 1997 we investors considered it the new beginning for the company, though there are those that did not want to agree with that.
That was not all of what BBNS researched and if you were a member of BBNS you would know that BBNS does mostly research on what new email lists he can add to the news service for his members interest. He posts logs on many stocks during the day. I would think that he does research on stocks he buys, but that is not my business anyway. Do you think it unkind that BBNS shares information if they are asked by someone? Old information is not relevant to today, in my opinion.
Just putting you on really, but true this was mentioned before. Thanks, I had forgotten that or I would have added that to my list of things this thread had in it, in the beginning.. See it is all in the mind of the reader, as I did not think that many agreed with you. Did you think Ray W agreed with you? Would you ever ask that question yourself to a thread? And then say you wanted to get in on it? Come on John, I know you wouldn't ever do that....LOL Really wouldn't or I would think you belonged on that other thread that was mentioned.
Well, I remember being told at the SH meeting that the manufacturing part of NVID was sold, but that they still had the option to change their minds and go back to manufacturing their own products, if they chose. When you sell something you usually get paid, I think. Good move by Mike Redden and Dave Larson in my mind, especially to cut expenses and save money that they sorely needed at that time, which they told about and mentioned the sale of Arata's home.. Bringing up his name again poses this question, didn't you ever read that Arata never moved into the house in Sarasota. He lived in Clearwater at that time and it was K's or B's plan to get all the employees in the same city of Sarasota. As far as I know, he still lives in Clearwater now. I have no idea if he is paying interest on this note. I think that falls under the heading of company financial business and as far as I know, don't know if any one has asked. I certainly haven't asked about it. Don't think anything has been said on the thread or I think I would remember that for sure. What made you think I know? James Parkinson told someone that asked a question on the thread to ask Cindy Powell, that she knows everything, so why don't you ask her. Better choice I think.
Eric Savages description of corporate offices is mute. The corporate office is in Clearwater now and the Sales office in Sarasota and not in the same place as then. More old, old information.. This is public information and addresses and telephone numbers have changed also. That office space was given up a long time ago also. By the way, there was an employee that sued NVID and his suit was defeated.. That was announced at the SH meeting, but a name not given. I had wondered if that is who Eric is for him to have so much information on NVID. hmmmmmm He surely knows a lot more than most, it seems to me. Asks questions about certain people that some don't even know of evidently cause no one answered his post requesting the whereabouts of a Tom somebody, maybe wrong on that, just remember it and don't know the post off hand, but it can be looked up under his profile. He does not have an email address either, so the answer would have had to come on the thread if anyone knew, unless the person he was posting to had his telephone number and I rather doubt that, but could be true. Thinking about that this could be a good mystery book. Intrigue surrounded his name on this thread for awhile, but was said information was not so.
Good to hear that you are not aligned with any group. Thank you for confirming that, but at the time, I couldn't tell that by your posts. Someone got really mad at me for posting in detail what you really did say. It was also printed to prove a point, by the way. Voice posts are becoming available now and maybe that will change the effects of the written word into a more understandable mode and will probably help a lot for those that use it.
When I say "our side", I mean the investors, The naysayers/bashers have said many things to bash the company and others that worked at the company. They are the "other side" on this thread, IMO. Investors versus non-investors, I am saying. The facts are that NVID was allowed to remain in business and their stock was not halted and remained trading. They were awarded Andrew Arata's house. They were able to negotiate a settlement with the SEC with the help of their counsel. that was agreeable and acceptable to the SEC. Those are the facts that I know, there may be others yet that will come forth when NVID is released.
No FTEL was not a BBNS pick. BBNS is a news service, not a newsletter. That has been stated on this thread as well as others. FTEL was a pick by Raleigh Baughman and he is still on the FTEL thread and from what he says, a large investor. It is a stock he truly believes in and he posts some good technical information for those that understand the techy stuff. I read it all hoping that some will stick to my brain, but it is sometimes over my head to say the least. Now you know. I thought you said you had read all the posts on this thread. You're making me think you have a bad memory here..LOL Oooh, don't tell me about charts. I am not interested in charting but don't like the thought of bad ones either. I still think that FTEL is a good investment and that their time will come. They have been busy laying their infrastructure and again only time will tell if they make it big. I can also wait for that. The market does take a lot of patience if you are a long time investor.
This thread has been lively off and on for a long time. Thanks to the suggestion of Ken Moss we took a breather for awhile this last time and then the board became active again just lately. I said I was going to take a breather until the news came. Yes we are past sixty days, but that happens in many cases. You cannot rush these things, but eventually they arrive.
No one twisted my arm, and the fact that you brought up the hypester uses PSYCHOLOGY and fancy words to dupe people is quite funny, in my opinion and these bright people play on people's ignorance, stupidity, laziness and greed. Maybe to better warn them, using reverse psychology and plain old words would change that. LOL, just kidding of course. Do you find that most of the people you try to warn listen first and act accordingly or listen after they have been duped. Bet the latter. Do you think that will ever really change? I do not. Experience is a valuable way to learn and I believe that those that have educated themselves through their mistakes do survive in the markets. Oh, but there is so much to learn to get to that point. Some of the books that are out just compensate the author and their content is dubious to say the least.
"I think you might be confusing taking risk with gambling" If you don't think going into a casino and putting a lot of money in slot machines is not a terrible risk, then you must not know that slots bring in the most money of any casino game in the house. Where most of their profit comes from and how they are able to do all the give aways to get people into their establishments and still make mega bucks. It was on CBS just a few days ago showing that the Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas has added $1,000 two coin machines to their slot area. Heart attack on a machine, I would say. Was in Vegas in June and I knew what a risk it was playing slots and black jack. Sometimes you might be lucky, but the majority of the times you will lose. Just like the penny stock market to me. The common thing between slots and the penny stocks is if a person wins, most turn right around and put it right back in trying for the big jackpot and they double their chances of losing it all And, you do not see that as risk?. Don't people in the penny stocks do the same thing? Good luck to you on warning others, that is a noble cause, but getting someone to listen may be more difficult than you anticipate. At this juncture, how many people have you had tell you to mind your own business? So many investors do not want to admit that they have lost, then tell you they have turned around and made it back. hmmmm don't know whether they are telling the truth or not. I was told that before I came into small caps by one of the people that I consult with in my portfolio on the NY and AMEX stocks, that I would probably lose most if not all of what I invested. Have not lost it all, because I have not sold it all, but if I cashed in today that would be more fact than fiction. I just have the mindset of a long term investor and frankly have missed some runups that would have made me money and I was what we say often when we are not paying enough attention to something, My mind "was out to lunch" and waiting to see if it the stock would go just a little higher. Just call me "greedy", so I am guilty of that too. I think I am learning though.
Maybe you think nothing is wrong with Canadian brokers. I surely have read some tacky things about them. Know some pretty tacky brokers here in the US too. So what is new? Get a lot of cold calls and they always ask for my husband. When I ask them if they are brokers, and they yes and give me their firm name, I tell them they will have to speak to me I am the investor in the family and why do they think they got our residence number during the middle of the day, and they say, "HUH, OK", and when they start I interrupt quickly saying I'm fully invested and hang up... Interesting also, I have never been called by a female cold caller. I think women are too smart to take that job...vbg
Now to the lawsuit question. Definitely not. You really have not read this thread now I know for sure..... vbg. That is the funniest question yet. I just would not join a class action suit for reasons one should know. I have not lost any money yet, just on paper and I have a chance that I won't lose at all but might make a profit. The defrauded investors were represented by the SEC and the SEC stated in the Sarasota newspaper that only a portion of them would recover anything, only the ones that bought from Superior Aqua Products, I think that is correct, but did not check it while writing this.. My advisor told me in the beginning I would be much better off and go through much less stress if I just took my losses against capital gains on my income tax. Said from his knowledge, I would get nowhere what I lost and that by the time all the expenses were paid, my recovery would be small or next to nil Also, our Gov't does allow you to deduct three thousand dollars a year against capital gains and losses may be carried forward, so I think that is good advice and will listen. So, if I live that long and decide to get out of penny stocks for good, look what I have to look forward to......... Just have to make sure those capital gains are there to deduct from......
Well, since this will be my last post until the news release comes, let me say to you. I have enjoyed your posts and you sense of humor. You have posted in a very civil manner and it is appreciated, not only by me, but you have shown that it can be done without attacking, even by a Canadian....vbg. Thank you especially for that, John.
My regards,
n(Naomi)haynes
P.S. I had done all the research on this when I went to check on a thread and saw the news release was posted. GREAT NEWS for us investors and maybe it will be good news from now on. Since I had told you that I would respond, I do keep my word, even if it is after the fact now. All this probably just doesn't matter anymore. As Dave Larson said they are no longer under the "dark cloud". If I have not answered all your ?, sorry, it is over for me and I shall he happy and sit back and see what happens from here on. Amen |
