To All, Strange atonal notes in the orchestra today: 1. Dow Jones reports that stocks are flat despite strong earnings reports. Then, as an example of a strong earnings report, they mention Lam Research. Now, I have no ax to grind on this one, as I have no position long or short right now. But the company reported a LOSS of a nickle a share BEFORE one time charges. What exactly would a weak earnings report look like? <G>

2. Merrill has named IBM its Focus One stock of the week. I wonder if they will slamma-jamma this dog the way they did MU last year? Who cares what the real story is? We have 1000s of stock jammers with millions of telephone numbers of suckers. Makes you want to toss your cookies, Girl Scouts and all. <G>
