It is the NexGEN design guys who did the K6.

The AMD design guys - the ones that did the K5 and ORIGINAL - but ABANDONED - K6 - almost sunk the company. Most of these guys (Austin) have "left the company".

AMD had to go outside for a bailout.

Whether the K7 requires another bailout or not - we will have to wait and see.

I really don't disagree with you here, Kash ... My concern has always
centered on AMD process development and manufacturing capability. Maybe
with Motorolo's help, things will be different ... the process performance
gap has "widen" this past year between AMD and Intel, AMD needs to fix
this "pronto" (tm StockMan).
