I say the reason for this is that people with cogent and intelligent thoughts are being muted by hypsters - more appropriately the "irrational exuberant" types. Why would any sensible person (who is most like to post "quality" material) waste his/her time trying to tell people about the follies of buying Amazon.com at $140?

Agree with your two points and would add that the price of SI is also a deterrent. Sadly, on some stocks that I follow I get better information from Yahoo, even though the Yahoo format isn't nearly as good as SI.
