Carl,

Trading about $2 above its 52 week low is ... enjoying the UTEK bull ride?

I not sure what I'd call it but "bull ride" wasn't on the tip of my tongue. :-)

Best regards,
Ian.

Carl: Thank you for brining the layoff information to light. It is so easy to overlook the effect of this whole downturn on the employees in this type of investment forum.

RE: "Utek just laid off 40 people 2 weeks ago in California. They also had a layoff in May as well as a workforce reduction at ISI that affected 40% of that company."

What percentage of the people laid off were in administrative roles (as compared to engineering)?

Thanks,

I2

The ISI acquisition opened the door to labor force consididation
at UTEK in order to maximize efficiencies and eliminate
redundancies. This is called good corporate management.
UTEK is not in the business of providing welfare role
employment for employees that are not needed, especially
when a major acquisition changes the company's employment
priorities. As a shareholder, I do not want UTEK to keep
unnecessary employees on the payroll in order to bleed
profits and subsidize those who are better off finding
employment elsewhere. This also provides an opportunity
to reduce payroll where it is most appropriate, in the area
of those who are not producing for shareholders. This is a business.
