Is there any single factor that those investors who are reading this thread give more weight to than others when considering investments?

I mean do you give more weight to rapidly growing profits, insider buying, high book value, plenty of cash, where a stock is listed, conversations with management or those who do business with the company?

What kind of due diligence does it take to really try to find a good investment and lower an investors risk in any investment? What other factors should we take into account?

No rush, I realize I am asking for lots of information or at least a personal opinion on what is important to each individual when they pick an investment.

BTW that was a wonderful write up on what to look for on the insider buying or selling question. It should help newer investors an awful lot and it's an excellent reminder for the rest of us.
