Del the reason I love the internet on research is there can be no bias or prejudice. You can read and believe what you will without peer pressure if you don't agree with the peers. In this religion study the mass of material gives a much broader view than on bible. I have found in local libraries here that mystical books of religion are disappearing. Just as the Romans at Alexandria burned the library to rid Gnostic teachings and promote the new Roman religion called Christianity by book and brute force. Believe or be murdered was the theme of the day. That soon left only believers. Today god well meaning people of the Christian faith will steal and destroy these books. Our library got a new one titled "The Mystical Christ," by Manley P. Hall and it disappeared the first week. I ordered it from Kessinger online bookstore and saw why it disappeared so fast. I get tickled because the volume next to it cannot be hid under a coat for stealing and has been there at least two years or more. They will permit only library reading so it cant get lost on checkout either. It will take weeks to study so bought it also. Title "Secret Teachings of all Ages." same author. One way I expanded my studies in an orderly way was to get books used as reference in the book I am reading. Although I type poorly and am only fair in expressing thoughts and a high school dropout I am not the poor pitiful lost soul the idiots try to make me. I know whereof I speak. I do not accept things because they are in print or on the internet. I either know a subject or I don't know it and will never try to mislead anyone. This sounds Egotistical I know but I long ago conquered my EGO for it is nothing. I just caution you not to toss out all belief in God. Just toss out the Jesus as a savior heaven & hell and the church religions. All western religions based on the bible teach morality but morality is in yourself. Good luck on your research and may God reveal himself in you ere long.

Morning, Del, Aw, you know I wasn't saying you called names! I think you argue very fairly, and you are always sweet to me! But there is a great deal of namecalling and nastiness all around the threads- Way more than there should be. If people really bothered to listen and think, maybe this would have more value. I don't believe that's what we're seeing. Too many people aren't listening, are looking to flame, are "kicking the dog" in a way here. But it's silly to argue it-if it has value for you, I'm glad. Personally I find that it's easy to substitute this for action, to give it more meaning than it deserves. I do believe that it is good or I wouldn't be here obviously! But I'm just not convinced that it has any real effect and I think it can be unhealthy. I spent several hours yesterday (refusing to leave the house in the heat) using the net to research evolution and creationism. Results and survey in next post---for what THAT"S worth!
