<<The interesting part of the article (besides mentioning that LHSPF/MSFT and Dragon are competitors) is the calculation that this particular sector of the market by itself accounted for $408 million in revenues in 1997, and will grow to $2 billion by 2000. Are we in a growth industry or what!>>

TMA Associates, who seems to be one of the consultants in the speech industry often quoted in L&H articles (and L&H is one of their clients), had very impressive projections for the worldwide market for speech technology products over the next 6 years. In an IBD article dated April 16, 1998 they provided a graph which I will summarize as follows:

'96 $300 Million
'97 $500 Million
'98 $1 Billion
'99 $2 Billion
'00 $5 Billion
'01 $10 Billion
'02 $20 Billion
'03 $38 Billion

I hope TMA is at least a little on the money with these projections. If they are, then L&H investors will be BIG in the money!
