Steve,
Along the same lines regarding order execution. I have a scenario I hope you can help me understand. This happened through Etrade (who "routes their orders to the maker that will give the customer the best advantage"'paraphrased' - good marketing material anyway).

I am trying to buy a stock trading at 1 1/2 2500 x 1 3/4 2500 with no activity for a couple of hours.
I place an order for 5000 at 1 5/8
I am watching delayed quotes and do not see level II
15 mins later, I see the quote change to 1 5/8 5000 x 1 3/4 2000
The stock doesn't trade for several hours.
I cancel my order.
On my delayed screen 15 mins. later, I see the quotes go to 2500 at 1 5/8 bid and it gets traded, immediately followed by trades at 1 3/4, 1 1/2 and 1 5/8 again. All trades in less than 2 mins. totaling more than 20k shares.
My order was not an AON order.

The appearance was that they could not fill the orders that they wanted to have filled until my order got filled and they did not want to do that for what ever reason. Once canceled, they could fill the orders they already had or that would make them money when done.

My question, finally, is why my order would not have at least gotten a partial fill. As it appears there were offers in the waiting.

If this is not enough info to make a conclusion with, I understand. I am just thinking there may be something that market makers do here that I am missing.

As always Thanks,
Sandbag

**Favor**

We're looking to hire two new assistant traders, individuals who can support my traders with the opportunity to get experience working orders and ultimately handle the trades themselves. The term would be, 'trader's assistant'. There would also be the opportunity to get

The best place to find traders would be to go where the traders are. I figured this thread might be a good place to start. If you know anyone, freinds, family, cousings, etc. who live in the NJ,NY,PA area, have them email me at steve@yamner.com. It would be a great intro to the financial industry for the right person. If you know that person, have them email me.

Thanks
