Greetings Santiago, May God bless you this day. I am obtaining my information from "The Fall & Rise of Israel" by Hull Zondervan Publications. I am NOT a historian and would invite anyone with knowledge in this area to add their comments with references. Chick Publications has a Christian trac called Jeopardy that deals with this issue. Chick Publications as you may know are a controversial topic in many circles supported by many and condemned by many for the stand they take on a number of issues. They do however preach the gospel of salvation through Christ exclusively which I fervently support. I have purchased their material but am not affiliated with them in any way. They claim that during WW I Churchill had contacted a Jewish chemist named Chaim Weizmann when the British naval guns were running out of gun powder. Weizmann was able to produce 30000 tons of synthetic acetone which enabled the British to manufacture cordite gun powder and he became a hero as a result. When asked what he wanted in return he replied "a national home for my people." The inference is that the Balfour Declaration was the result. I would not rush to condemn Emile here as more clarification may be in order. My issue with this topic is that I support Israel as still being special in Gods' eyes that the nation is not forgotten and condemned by Him. I do not support Judaism as the way of salvation I believe as you know that it is not. Yours in Christ John
