This tidbit was in my inbox this morning...

From [ITS]Mark's Monday Memo:

- Thomson expects to have shipped 100,000 DSS (DirecTv and USSB)
receivers with Dolby Digital output by year end.

- In the same time frame, EchoStar plans to deliver a combo DVD-
player/satellite receiver. EchoStar's latest receiver-only boxes also
offer Dolby Digital outputs.

Three questions:
Who else besides Cube has a Settop decoder that does Dolby Digital?
Who else besides Cube has Settop decoder chip and a DVD chip that is based on the same core silicon (and just different microcode?) ?
Who's chips are these guys using?

Thanks for the info FredE and David. You may be right that Kubota does not have an intention to sell, but this could be weighing on the stock. What else would they be registering these for if they did not think that they may have to sell in the near future.

It also looks like the bonds are no bargain. Thanks for the quote.
