Torben, I expect LGNDF to remain fixed on the research end. However, I think that the in house products will generate sufficient income so these grossly underfunded programs can move forward at a much quicker pace. In the future, most diseases will be treated with a combination of drugs and LGND is well positioned to discover the appropriate combinations.

For instance, in the area of breast cancer there is data that rexinoids can synergize with SERMs and retinoids can synergize with TZDs. Rexinoids have also been shown to synergize with retinoids and Vitamin D compounds have shown some promise. Moreover in diabetes and atherosclerosis, rexinoids and TZDs have been shown to synergize.

LGND of course has extensive programs in all of the above areas, and they are well positioned to come up with some of the best combos and these combos will create huge markets (look at treatment for AIDS). LGND has rapid screening as well as a growing data base which will serve them well in the near term.

The street of course is slow to figure this out, which is why LGND is cheap at $20. Eventually the street will be able to see these relationships and long term shareholders will be rewarded. Those waiting for LGND to get down to $10, will probably remain as observers.

I thought that MAJOR houses cover LGND, some with buy and strong buy ratings. This is the only 'street' that I know of.

Its statements like this (Cheap @ $20? Did LGND ever get above $20?) that really hurt the credibility of this board.

P.S. Perhaps he meant to say that LGND is cheap at $12.

Actually, several brokerage firms expect LGND to be north of $20 by the end of this year (LGND's all time high is 19 3/4).
