With sales of 2.6 million pc's worldwide CPQ is not dead. Both dell and cpq are great companies. Stupid to say cpq is dead.

W.B., CPQ is not a dead company. It is ill, and maybe dying, but not destined to die.

I HATE CPQ! However, that does not change the fact that they still have the ability to work things out.

I agree that, as with many stocks, there are some firms out there pushing bad stocks like CPQ (is at present). But, don't be so foolish as to count CPQ out.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Eckhart P. get the ax soon. His arrogance is partly to blame for their stumblings.

Regards,

LoD

W.B.
CPQ customers bought more than 3 million desktops last quarter, as opposed to Dell's 1.7M. The IDC and Dataquest numbers count sales to the channel, which do not reflect units held in the channel (inventory being cleared). Great performance by Dell, but they need to about double those numbers to actually take over the #1 spot from CPQ...
