I do not know the alliances, but I do know these things have a habit of changing when money is on the table. <g>

My point was that if Phillips could transfer or sub-license QCOM's IPR, and ERICY or some other evil GSM-empire company really really really wanted to get it, they might make Phillips an offer they could not refuse.

I'm not saying this will or even could happen. I just wondered about how tightly limited the licenses are, the law being a slippery squiggly beast sometimes.
