Axiom Signs 5-Year General Purchase Agreement with Ameritech; Initial Orders Expected To Total More Than $14.0 Million

Axiom To Provide New Data Server Products and Ongoing Support Over 5 Years

August 4, 1998 08:16 AM

MT. LAUREL, N.J., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Axiom Inc. AXIM today announced the signing of a five-year general purchase agreement with Ameritech Services, Inc. AIT Initial orders are expected to total more than $14.0 million for new models of its Sterling line of Data Servers and support over a five year period.

The company has already recognized $1.2 million in revenue from an initial stage of the contract in the quarter ended March 31, 1998. An additional $2.8 million in revenue was recognized in the quarter ended June 30, 1998. $3.0 million more is expected in the fourth quarter ending September 30, 1998, with the balance of the revenue -- primarily for ongoing support -- expected to be realized over the period 1999 - 2003.

Commenting on Axiom's expanded data server product line, President and CEO, Andrew Maunder said, "We are pleased to see interest in our new scalable data servers coming from major carriers in addition to CLECs, independent telcos, and international market segments. This validates our ongoing product diversification strategy. Larger carriers -- including those already having extensive Axiom systems in place -- are finding new opportunities to deploy more targeted Axiom products."

"These new systems offer carriers the flexibility of starting with reliable teleprocessing for mediation, in both high volume and low volume applications. They can then expand to data networking and advanced data management as requirements increase in competitive and newly privatized markets," Maunder concluded.

Ron Kupfer, Ameritech Administrator -- AMA Teleprocessing Systems, stated, "Axiom's Data Server products matched our network needs allowing us to serve our customers in a more cost-effective manner."

Serving telecommunications and information service providers worldwide for 30 years, Axiom Inc. is an ISO 9001 Certified company. Axiom is recognized as a leader in the provision of real-time billing data collection and processing, fraud management and traffic management systems. Karl...Any hope for this one? I'm considering building a position as I noticed their new chairman bought 40,000 shares and the stock was highlighted in the latest Dick Davis Digest. Was recommended by a newsletter writer who has had some keen insights in the past. I love busted IPO's.
