Lakers--For pennies, I use NDB. They are $19.75 for online trading. That is a flat daily rate, i.e., multiple trades on the same side of the transaction. So if you bought the same stock 5 times in 1 day and exited 3 times, it would be $39.50.

Decimal entries are OK, as well. I only asked once but not only did they not put a 10 day hold on my check, they actually let me buy a penny without cash in my account, though I had other holdings as well(but they were pennies). My account was fairly new at the time and the holdings exceeded the buy by a large amount, but even so, they let me do it and certainly didn't put a hold on the check.

I can't speak for the initial opening check as I transferred an existing portfolio to them.

The other day I bought a stock on line and they just flashed a message to get the check to them in three days. I later sold something to bring my cash balance to positive.

For listed stocks, NDB does charge a penny a share over 5000 shares, but again, you can get around that by putting multiple buys or sells in the same day. The $19.75 flat rate for ALL the buys(or sells) would apply.

I use Webstreetsecurities.com. They don't allo decimal orders but they will allow you to place a decimal order over the phone for the same price as an internet trade. $15. So far I got nice executions.
