I too was encouraged by the results. My only concern is unit sales which are forecasted to decline for 3rd qtr - this would appear to indicate that the bottom has not yet been reached. In my mind, recovery will not occur until unit sales start to increase which is probably another quarter or two out (as they have speculated).

Looked through the press release, noted some positives:

-503K ASP for 5010
-service revenues starting to contribute as warranties run out

Series 5000 backlog went from roughly 110m to 67m (this assuming about 16m in 5010 orders as per recent announcement, actually 5000 backlog could be lower and 5010 higher). 67m is about 165 units at 410k, down from 260 units. This looks OK given that integrators still have to work off their 5000 series inventories ( they had over 200 on hand at the beginning of the quarter).

Still no word on Orion - we'll learn more from the CC

If SOX recovers (judging by late afternoon improvement in MU, INTC), we should be OK tomorrow, BWDIK?

Regards,

Y.
