Well, if you control ASIC design, you definitely have more
power and flexibility. Of course it's a double edged sword.
And if you plan to do your own ASIC, you BETTER know what you
are doing. Another thing,too, is that if you outsource everything
you risk your designs being copied. Arent' there a lot of
lawsuits in Silicon Valley to this effect?

But yes. You can argue from both sides on this issue.
