Steve, I agree - one day does not a trend make. The internals remain ugly. If I remember correctly, a 1 point move in a DOW component results in a 4 point change in the index. Thus AXP on their earnings alone contributed almost 25%. If this was a rally, it was very narrow.

stevo...for a quick read...watch the USA today auto sight. It shows NYSE and AMEX. On divergent days the NYSE & AMEX will drop steady while the DOW will vacillate or move higher.
