Sid, Good to see you over here away from your usual haunts on BLDPF and ERC (among others). Do you have a position in NANX, or are you considering? Actually, the sun screen compound is titanium dioxide, and they've already got a deal with a German company to supply t.diox. for this purpose. Not that its done much for their revenues yet. The following passage is from their current 10K: "For example, the Company produces titanium dioxide with particles that are large enough to block ultraviolet rays but are consistently smaller than the wave length of visible light, which enables sunscreens formulated with these particles to provide high PF protection and transparency. "

Actually, for sunscreen, I believe Titania Dioxide is the preferred material. They did some work w/ a csmetics company on this a few years back because at the price per pound the powders go for, you ain't gonna find it in Coppertone. On the other hand, if there are application benefits (goes on smoother, won't flake off and of course provide sun protection) for cosmetics, well the makeup can support the price.
