Hi Paul, are we gona hear an upgrate from ML now?
still have not ordered my new system yet.

I heard this . .. is this a realy big problem? or is it much to
do about nothing?
i.e. Is my stuff on the networks secure?

news.com

Armed with knowledge
of how to exploit this
flaw, anyone on a
Windows NT client on
an NT network can gain
the power to switch
other users' passwords,
add new addresses,
change access rights to confidential network areas,
and generally run the network in the same
manner as an administrator, according to Mark
Edwards, a private security consultant and
principal behind the NT Security and NT Shop
Web pages.

"It's a pretty big problem," he said. "Even though
it's a local attack, it's probably one of the top five
or six bugs [for Windows NT]."

Paul Engel. Re: "REAL PLUS FOR INTEL" Now that's music to MY ears. I had not thought of that. This indeed will smooth transitions and allow Intel more control over its destiny. Hopefully, the rollercoaster, stuff the channel days are over.

In some announcement, CPQ said their weeks supply in inventory will increase during product transitions. This sounds like the old channel stuffing to me. Intel can control that by how they manage their inventories and their wafer starts.

Thanx for your well reasoned reply.
