Aleta, there are no "absolute" or "correct" valuation numbers . Just a whole series of judgment calls to be made. That is why we want a management which has 100% loyalty to ZULU, when those judgment calls are made.

Since the infamous P.H. interview suggests that assets may be purchased or used as basis for valuing merger/combination, one economist's (Shannon Pratt) treatise, "Valuing a Business," notes that:

"Revenues may be the primary focus of the valuation process in certain situations - usually service businesses - and especially in connection with a sellout or a merger. Even if earnings are depressed or negligible . . . a buyer frequently is willing to pay some multiple of revenues for the established market share and hence accept the risk in making the operation satisfactorily profitable."

"The valuation emphasis frequently tends to be on revenues when buying or selling various commission--type service agencies, such as advertising or insurance . . . ."

Two caveats: Pratt was addressing in his book closely held companies. And, stock value can be quite a bit different than the asset or investment value of a company.
