christian--

a word of explanation for my previous...

i dont think many of us own VLSI on takeover spec, we own it because its a good company. as for the stock price and a big bounce tomorrow? who knows. it might happen or it might not. you see, my last post, or at least the reference to MU are based on a few things...

1) there has been a lot of publicity about semis today
2) people will probably be buying the sector tomorrow.

how do i know they will be buying the sector? elaine garzarelli(sp?). she is typical of the kind of investor we have to deal with day in and down out. she doesnt look at stocks, she looks at sectors. she is the kind of person that would buy MU if someone like tom kurlak made positive comments about semis. the only problem is, MU has big problems. this provides me with two opportunities...to short POS MU (or buy puts<G>) and to buy VLSI.

...back to VLSI...

it has seesawed a little already. is it ready for a big move...depends on what you call big. i have a long position already that i am not selling for a while. however, that doesnt mean i cant set up a trading position in the stock. every time it breaks 16.50, it doesnt take long for it to move back to at least 17.50. so, i make a point on the little swings.

as for owning something too soon... wonder if people thought that about buying dell at 75 before it went lower? they probably did. but, if they had the intelligence to hold, i am sure they dont think it was too soon now. sure it might go lower than here tomorrow, but then again it might not.

good luck to all,
trey
