Greetings DLL, Steve and all who love the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you DLL for your two separate responses. To keep things in some order I will respond to each separately. With Gods Grace let us begin; " your post # 19736. 1. Psalm 40:7-12, Jesus is speaking in verses 7 through 9, please read Hebrews 10:5-10 to see the validity of my statement. Verses 9 through 17, I see as David as speaking. I believe each verse ( 9-17 ), if carefully read , one can see that it is David doing the speaking. For example, verse 9, " O Lord, thou knowest. ", David acknowledges Gods omniscience. Verse 12, David is speaking of his iniquities that have overtaken him. 2. My paraphrasing of Psalm 40-6, DLL, I should have been more clearer in my wording, forgive me. The reason I paraphrased Psalm 40-6 was because Davids sins of Adultery and Murder were punishable according to the Law by death. Please refer to Lev. 20:10-12 for the penalty of Adultery, and Num. 35:30, for the punishment for murder. David, according to 2 Sam. 12:9, is charged for killing Urriah by the swords of the sons of Amon. This sin of Adultery and the penalty that it demanded was also seen during the time when the Lord Jesus Christ walked this earth, when the woman was caught in Adultery and the Jews were about to stone her. I will end here and respond with another post to your 2'nd. post to me. I trust this answers your questions satisfactory. Robert
