Hey guys did some digging over the weekend and came up with a few reports, that maybe interesting and maybe a little out dated.Could be the reason for Ancor's pullout of LANS and into SANS...I didn't know how to connect these to this board but they maybe good reading and desire the opinions of the "enginners" on this board... The only way I got to these was ALTA VISTA search engines...the addresses are as follows....
1.www.npac.syr.edu/techreports/hypertext/sccs-708/node5.htn
2.www.npac.syr.edu/techreports/hypertext/sccs-708/node7.htn
3.www.npac.syr.edu/techreports/hypertext/sccs-708/node8.htn
4.www.npac.syr.edu/techreports/hypertext/sccs-708/node9.htn
5.www.npac.syr.edu/techreports/hypertext/sccs-708/node14.htn

Could this be Fiber channels short coming??? Replies are welcome. And
maybe ATM is the problem...sorry I didn't direct connect, don't know how to do it..help is necessary!!!!

Wacked like everyone else and waiting for the rebound...Is there a dead cat bounce coming soon???

Steve,

I'm serious. The MKII is gorgeous on the inside, but I thought it was a bit plain on the outside. I didn't like the green color, because I thought it made the switch look cheap. Granted, the customer can paint them, or Ancor can deliver them in any color the customer wants, but I like the looks of the SilkWorm better.

To understand this comment, you have to know my background. I am sort of a high-end audio buff, and I drool over audio equipment like Krell and Mark-Levinson. I've never owned anything that nice, but I can dream. <g> Anyway, the point is that I think the MKII should be the best looking switch out there, in addition to being the best performing. My own experience in the networking area also bears this out. I continue to buy Bay Networks 350T Ethernet switches, not only because they work well, but also because they look nice. I've used 3COM gear too, and it works fine, but the Bay 350T simply looks better. The color doesn't match anything else I own, but when my customers see a Bay 350T, they are impressed. A little thing, granted, but it could be important in some areas.
