and ALL,

There are some other factors to consider. Canada has about $850B in accumulated debt and some of the highest and punitive taxes anywhere in the developed world. With the slide of SE Asia, investment dollars are flowing into the robust U.S. economy as a safe haven in what many perceive as very rough global economic waters.

The Canadian dollar will continue its slide as long as the country is perceived to be 'shaky' - and Canada is well beyond the point where New Zealand 'flushed'. Our unemployment is roughly double that of the U.S. so an interest rate hike seems remote unless some of our politicians want to throw the dice and see what happens - most thinking members of the planet wouldn't touch that one.

In my humble opinion (as plagerized from a host of economists - pick a theory), the Canadian dollar is probably undervalued relative to other currencies. Of course, that ignores a host of problems like the debt.

In the long haul, I would suggest voting for twelve gerbils to run the country - they're cute and probably would leave things 'as is', thereby lessening the threat of making a bad move at the wrong time.

And that ties in vaguely to Sungold in a way which I'll probably leave for now - I'm tired and it's time to sign off.

The best to all in the Group.

R.W.
