An old post Speedlane!! I figured hell if I can invest thousands into a company then I can risk twenty bucks on speedlane's product and get a taste of how Digital River works. I have a Pentium 200 with a 33.6 modem. Speedlane stated it would take 5 mintues to download the software, actually it took 15 seconds. I had the option to download again so I downloaded again but renamed the file. Then I renamed it again but to a floppy. After that it would not let me download anymore. But DR stated if I had any problems to use the product # and the password that I had set with them when ordering from DR. DR repeated several times when placing my order that it was a secure server and would provide details if I had further concerns. I also recieved a confirmation e-mail of my product order with product # , date and order #. After downloading the product it turned out to be very simple to operate, so simple that I wondered if it was going to work and was somewhat skeptical. I was concerned that it might not work on AOL but saw some positive reviews from compuserve users. I selected the basic do it for me instructions which took all of 10 seconds. Logged on (AOL stated I connected at 31200, but I get all kind connection rates lately) and tried my favorite web sites. The first site was about 10% faster after that all other sites that I normally visit were astonishing fast, on the average I would say about 75-85% faster... WOW! I was very very pleased with speedlane and DR. It was a smooth transition from Speedlane to DR, however it was obvious of the transition from one website to another. But DR continued speedlanes sales pitch of other products and several other ways to recieve their products... snail mail or by ESD with various types of payment plans. Overall... totally satified with both companies. But so far this speedlane thing is kewl as sh*t! Crusin' Don
