There has been a good bit of chatter on the thread about Lucent buying Ascend or Bay and competing with Cisco:
If Ascend and Bay's product is so good, how come Cisco is kicking their butt? It will still be the same product with LU's name on it.

<It looks like that you are very bullish on LU, but either want to jump in or add more at lower price , i.e 80+. >

Ed, I couldn't have said it better myself!

There is a bearish chill in the market right now, and a sinking tide will send all boats lower. Being a natural optimist, I like to be bullish, but have learned the folly of ignoring what the market is telling me.

<In that way, your 80+ target will be more and more like a pipple dream. >

Just like all tops are overdone, so are all bottoms. And this will be the prime opportunity for acquiring LU in the high 80's!

<If you look at the Dow, 8900 is the bottom , the next stop will be 9400 to 9700 !!!>

No, sir, I respectfully disagree, the bottom here will be the 200 day moving average which is around DOW 8500. (Nasdaq 1800). Yesterday's weak afternoon rally which couldn't follow through only confirms my thesis. Batten down the hatches, we are entering stormy weather!
