How about: Pay attention to your instincts.

I remember the tone of your early relationship with Mike, and how you singlehandedly made peace. At the time I thought that showed a lot of strength on your part, but maybe it was an error. The desire to get along with other people may have overcome your judgment. (psycho-speculating here)
