Do your homework before you post nonsense.
Lets see, Ascend's stock has gone from 35 to 53 in the last two years, while Cisco has gone from 35 to 97. I guess you are right, my apologies, its obvious that Ascend is really kicking Cisco's butt!

Bind....

On the ASND thread you say you're long both CSCO and ASND... doesn't seem like it with that post.

Next: USWest, Sprint, and Singtel all have been won since ASND took the ATM core from CSCO at GTE. ASND has done nothing in this time - are the tides turning?

Next: Most of the accounts your noted that are ASND accounts are also CSCO accounts - edge switches, high speed routers (not going to be commoditized), Cable (ASND's not even in this game), xDSL (what happened to ASND here - they had a great start), etc. As for AT&T, QWST, Williams, GTE, WOrldcom, PSINET, most of the Baby Bells - including PacBell's NAP are using CSCO/StrataCom equipment as well. Of course there is a list of carriers that are CSCO shops only.

I believe the criteria to be a Cisco powered network are to have something like 90% of the infrastructure Cisco products.

Next: ASND is holding their own right now. They had a run from September (when they bottomed) to June and have since stalled. No new major announcement since GTE. Last summer all the ASND's were crying in their collective beer...now you come over to the CSCO thread and tell us all how ASND is kicking CSCO's butt. Very curious.

Now, I in fact am a CSCO, ASND, LU long. I think ASND has a great product line and I think they will be a good acquisition giving CSCO some good competition. But no one is kicking anyone's but in the core. ;)

Finally: If 60% of ASND's revenues come from core/ISP's that's what...about $900K? If that's the case I can say with pretty good certainty that CSCO is generating more revenue from core business than is ASND. I'd be only guessing since CSCO doesn't break down product revenues in their reports, but I suspect the StrataCom revenues alone are higher than that let alone the 1010 and GSR12000.
