Patrick -- I thought I was clarifying matters with my recent post quoting PDG's Hugh Leggatt, but there you go again muddying everything to the best of your ability.

Your original point was that we'll never know what Placer did or didn't consider in terms of an offer to Crystallex. I called Leggatt yesterday to ask him that very question, and he said serious consideration was never given to the idea of paying KRY even a token sum to go away, let alone buying out the company.

Leggatt said:

"There was no serious consideration to doing that at all. The question was raised among ourselves but there was never any question of actually doing it. The thinking was it was shear greenmail. In fact it was stated quite clearly by us publicly that there was no value in settling with Crystallex because their claim was non-existent. So why pay for something that has no value? It's a, unethical and b, just stupid business."

Now you come along with the leap of logic that I have "confirmed that discussions took place within PDG which lends support to the rumours." Now I know this may be difficult for you, but re-read Mr Leggatt's statement slowly and tell us which part you don't get when he says "no serious consideration" to a token payoff.

Furthermore, I have never attributed the $23 fantasy offer to Roy Carson. However, an early Carson e-mail does make reference to insiderish talk about potential offers.

We can only be thankful your province is neither law nor journalism, but rather what appears to be a full-time gig misleading investors on stock forums.
